Belgian and living in the region of Liège, I am passionate of photography for more than 45 years now.
I am graduate of a belgian well known school "Institut Saint-Luc" (branch "photography").
I was pro for a short period in the years '70 before I started a marketing career (for which I was also graduate) in the field of financial institutions.
Meanwhile I never let my passion aside and did go on with it…!
I always used Nikon and Hasselblad , for both brands I was always very happy with them for their quality and reliability.
Working in argentic until 2005, I switched to digital with great fear but I'm now happy I did, it's fabulous !
In my plans I have several travels where photography takes the first place, namely Brasil (again) but now for a discovery of the amazonian forest and perhaps -later- specific regions of Patagonia in Argentina & Chile.
Today my "active" photo equipment can be summarized as follows:
Nikon D300 / D700 bodies
Nikon lenses: FX AF-S 24-70mm F/2.8, FX AF-S 70-200mm F/2.8 VRII, FX AF-S 50mm F/1.4G, FX AF 80-400mm VR, DX AF-S 16-85mm VR, DX AF-S 18-135mm
Other lenses: Tokina lens DX AF-S 11-16mm F/2.8
My type of photography is not focused on a specific theme, I like landscapes, portraits, street shooting, nature and birding photography.
Outside travel photography, what I perhaps like most is "detail photography", things that people generally do not see when having a walk, something unusual, uncommon…

Belge et vivant dans la région liégeoise, je suis passionné de photographie depuis maintenant plus de 45 ans.
Je suis diplômé d'une école belge bien connue, l'Institut "Saint-Luc" (section photographie)
J'ai exercé comme professionnel dans les années '70 avant d'entamer une carrière en marketing (discipline dont j'étais également diplômé) dans la sphère des Institutions Financières.
Pendant cette période je n'ai pas laissé la photo de côté, bien au contraire… !
J'ai toujours utilisé Nikon et Hasselblad, marques dont j'ai toujours été enchanté pour leurs qualité et fiabilité.
Ayant travaillé l'argentique jusqu'en 2005, j'ai franchi le pas vers le digital avec une certaine méfiance mais j'en suis ravi aujourd'hui, c'est fabuleux !
J'ai dans mes plans plusieurs voyages dans lesquels la photographie occupe le plan central, notamment le Brésil (à nouveau) mais cette fois pour la découverte de la forêt amazonienne ainsi que, plus tard peut-être, diverses régions de la Patagonie en Argentine et au Chili.
Aujourd'hui, mon matériel de prise de vues peut se résumer comme suit :

Ma photographie ne se focalise pas sur un seul thème, j'aime le paysage, le portrait, la photo de rue, la photographie de nature et d'oiseaux.
A l'exception de la photographie de voyage, ce que j'affectionne peut-être le plus est la photographie du détail et de l'insolite, ce que l'on ne voit généralement pas en se promenant par exemple, l'inhabituel…

Belg en woonachtig in de omgeving van Luik, ben ik sinds meer dan 45 jaren door de fotografie gepassioneerd.
Behaalde mijn diploma aan het wel bekende Sint-Lucas Instituut in Belgïe (afdeling fotografie).
In de jaren 70tig oefende ik mijn beroep, carrière uit in de richting marketing (waarvan ik ook een diploma behaalde) en dit in de financiële wereld. Gedurende die hele periode liet ik
de fotografie zeker niet links liggen, integendeel ik ging er voor !
Ik heb altijd gebruik gemaakt van Nikon en Hasselblad, merken waar ik achter sta qua kwaliteit en standvastigheid.
Na te hebben gewerkt met silverhoudende materiaal tot 2005, ben ik overgegaan naar het digitale, met veel argwaan, maar tot op heden ben ik vrij verrast en blij van de resultaten,
het is gewoon fantastisch !
In mijn plannen heb ik diverse reizen waar fotografie centraal gelegen is, nl Brazilïe (weer) maar nu om de amazonie te ontdekken, en misschien later, bepaalde regios van Patagonia in Argentina en Chili.

Mijn fotografie is zeker niet éénzijdig getint, integendeel, ik benadruk graag landschappen, portretten, op straat "moment" opnames, fotografie van natuur en vogels.
Met uitzondering reisfotografie, wat ik misschien het best graag "shoot" is het detail en het onverwachtte, buitengewoon, wat men met het blote oog niet gewoon opmerkt,
tijdens een wandeling bij voorbeeld.
